The HARIO V60 RAN Dripper represents a unique fusion of two coffee brewing philosophies. Developed in collaboration with Hario and celebrated Japanese coffee expert Yasuo Suzuki, this dripper redefines the classic V60 design with a key innovation: the ribs on the cone face inward. Unlike the traditional V60, which features outward convex spiral ribs to keep the filter paper off the walls, the RAN’s inward-facing concave grooves gently press the filter against the dripper’s surface. This design increases the effective filtration area and maintains a more stable airflow channel, allowing gases to release more evenly during brewing. As a result, it offers a smoother and more consistent extraction experience, minimizing the risk of flow interruptions or uneven saturation that can challenge even seasoned brewers. Despite this modification, the V60 RAN retains the iconic 60° cone shape and the large single hole at the bottom. This ensures that brewers still have full control over their pour speed and extraction strength. Pour quickly for brighter notes or slow down for richer, fuller flavors.
